Federal Government Introduces Rental Incentives Plan

The Australian Federal Government has introduced the plan for increasing the amount of house renting across the country. This plan gives payments to the owners who build new houses and lease them at twenty per cent less than the market rate. There are many who have come forward with their applications and this scheme gets full public support. Nearly twelve thousand applications have come up. Most of the applications are from builders, developers, organizations and aged care providers. Some of the interested groups have come out with the plan to approach the government to give thirty thousand extra public dwellings to take in hand the house shortage. They are also to discuss about this with the government very soon. When the organizations were asked about the cost of this plan, they said that it would cost around 7.5 billion dollars and will have to survive with the raising demands.

This scheme will not only help the developers, builders and organizations but also the public in general because it helps in setting right the demand for rental houses. The government feels that this plan will help many people. This housing plan gives incentives to the persons who build new house and lease or rent it. By this way you can find many builders coming forward to construct buildings. Not only that some of the persons who have vacant lands may also come forward to construct and rent it if there are incentives. The government, on the other hand, does not know how far this will work out, but the number of applications coming forward shows that there are many dwelling houses under construction and surely this will bring down the demand for rental houses. However, there should not be any problem or forgery in the construction by the builders and the developers for the sake of incentives. The government, however, will take all the necessary steps to curtail such forgery and low standard constructions.

Some agencies have also come forward with the applications for construction. The government report says that already twelve thousand seven hundred incentives are ready and are waiting to be approved by the government, according to the Home minister. However, the public, especially the middle class who go in search for rental houses are not fully satisfied with this incentive scheme. The reason being, they feel that they will not get good standard buildings and also the lease or rental amount may be high. Therefore the people want the government to take steps to fix nominal rental price based on the building or housing construction so that they are not burdened and also to look that standard quality buildings are constructed. It is for this reason the above mentioned scheme of rental incentive by the government will surely turn out to be a good plan if it is worked out well to meet the demand for rental houses in Australia.
